It’s time for the third annual FREE Defend Lawrence 5K to mark the 153rd anniversary of Quantrill’s raid on Lawrence.

On Sunday, August 21, we rally at Ad Astra Running — Lawrence’s only locally owned running store — and run with others in our local running community in honor of the resilience of Lawrence!

We’ll gather at Ad Astra Running's new location, 734 Massachusetts Street, at 4:45 a.m. with defensive maneuvers (a.k.a. the run) starting at 5:05. (That’s a.m.! And don’t be late: The town is counting on you!)

Post-run refreshments for all local heroes (a.k.a. runners). The run will be free and untimed, and traffic will not be stopped.
